BirdLife Zimbabwe Membership
BirdLife Zimbabwe (BLZ) is a locally-based registered Nature Conservation Organisation promoting the survival of birds and biodiversity in Zimbabwe. This is achieved through programmes to raise awareness of the need to protect species and natural ecosystems through policy, advocacy education and training.
- The National Office focuses on nature conservation programmes and implements projects.
- Local BirdLife Branches and Bird clubs involve social interaction through walks, talks and meetings and focus on bird monitoring. Contributions of bird data through atlassing and submission of bird sighting records are invaluable.
BirdLife Zimbabwe’s membership year is from April to March, but you can join any time.
Even if you don’t attend meetings and outings, your membership is important as it supports nature conservation action.
- You will become a member of your local BirdLife Branch and be notified of BirdLife branch activities (outings, talks and meetings) by WhatsApp and email.
- You’ll be affiliated to the BLZ National Office and its nature conservation activities.
- You can choose to join the BirdLife bird WhatsApp platforms i.e. Chirpers Chat Group and Special Species to contribute your sightings and learn more about birds from others.
- You’ll receive digital copies of the BLZ newsletter, The Babbler, bi-monthly, and digital issues of our scientific journal, Honeyguide, each year.
Subs are payable annually in USD as it’s no longer economical to operate a ZWL bank account. Membership rates (stated below) are minimal to keep them affordable but if you feel able, donations would be most gratefully received.
